Your hand opens and closes, opens and closes. If it were always a fist or always stretched open, you would be paralysed. Your deepest presence is in every small contracting and expanding, the two as beautifully balanced and coordinated as birds' wings.
―JELALUDDIN RUMI
Welcome, I’m Clara
I practice integrative counselling and psychotherapy with both adults and teenagers (+15 years old). I offer sessions face to face and online, in English and in Spanish.
From a young age, I was captivated by the intricacies of the human mind and emotional experience. My personal challenges and pain fuelled a desire to explore various healing methods and to understand how adversity impacts both the mind and body. Through psychotherapy and holistic therapies, I came to realise the immense value of self-discovery and the critical importance of having supportive relationships and resources in the healing process. Cultivating a healthy relationship with oneself may be the most crucial pillar in facing life’s challenges with resilience. Also, whether through trusted friends, family, or a compassionate therapist, reliable connections form a cornerstone for growth and personal transformation.
In my early 20’s, I trained as a meditation and yoga teacher, and I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. I specialised in Child and Adolescent Psychology, and for some years, I worked with children and school staff offering mindfulness and social-emotional learning (SEL) workshops and individual sessions. During that time, I also worked with neurodiverse kids and hospitalised children going through cancer and organ transplants. It was an interesting and diverse start to my career in mental health.
Years later, I migrated to Australia, where I encountered a new set of challenges as I navigated a different culture, language, professional standards, and bureaucratic systems. During this time, I had the privilege of working as a yoga teacher and within the mental health sector, supporting people with disabilities and mental health challenges within the NDIS. This experience enriched my understanding and provided me with invaluable knowledge. My migration experience taught me insightful lessons in patience and self-compassion, while deepening my empathy for those undergoing similar experiences and for the cultural challenges that shape our human journey.
My studies in Psychotherapy and Counselling at the Ikon Institute in Melbourne solidified the foundation of my therapeutic practice, integrating the skills and knowledge I had accumulated over the years and making me particularly interested in somatic, trauma, and attachment work. Now, at the heart of my work, I guide clients through their paths of self-discovery and healing, grounded in trauma stabilization, attachment repair, somatic-oriented therapies, and mindfulness-based practices.
My commitment is to welcome individuals from all walks of life, and to provide safe, supportive, and culturally attuned spaces where my clients feel seen, heard, and valued. In my integrative psychotherapy practice, I draw on a wide range of therapeutic models and work collaboratively with my clients. We tailor the therapeutic journey together, ensuring that my client’s unique needs are met, fostering meaningful growth and lasting transformation.
